It's Reveal Time! Button Swap 2012

Well, I've been having such fun with this swap. First, making the buttons that I sent to Teri Baskett, my partner, then getting her buttons in the mail and finally designing and making items I love with them. I hope Teri had as much fun as I did.
Now, making the buttons was a totally new adventure for me since I've made mostly beads and pendants before from polymer clay. The clay is so versatile I thought why not give it try. I did a little research into buttons for inspiration and found a whole new world to explore. I am totally hooked, pun intended! hi hi!
When I received Teri's package, I oohed and aahed then started dreaming of what I could make with the beauties. It took a little time but I used almost all of what she sent me and made some earrings and some bags. I just love everything I made, hope you do too.
Thank you Cindy for pointing me in this new direction for my art and Teri for the extra surprise of the bamboo handle. I love doing swaps they are just too much fun.
Here is the link for the list of partners, enjoy and Happy Mother's Day everyone!

  4. Line, you really did have an amazing creative streak, working with the buttons! This was really unusual - the bamboo handles! I would have been very challenged because I don't sew - but you, you made such a cute little tote bag! I like how you added the button accents. And the earrings are so nice - I especially like the round ones with the textures added. I'm glad you enjoyed the swap - thank you for playing along!! :-)

  7. Great uses for the buttons, I love to sew but all I could think of to use mine on was jewelry. Sometimes thinking out of the box isn't all it's cracked up to be :) Great prints.

  9. You made some really great piece with your buttons. I really like the orange one with the beads in the middle. Are those earrings? Cool! It's so easy to begin a button addiction. Be careful though or you'll have more stashes of buttons than time to play with them! Take it from me, I'm a professional button hoarder ;)
