Sleep tight Ironcraft!

Aah! A good night's sleep is so ephemeral in our lives. Every once in a while, you are graced with one and in the morning you remember what it is like to feel really rested. Our lives are always so full of work and activities that I think the brain can't go to sleep completely in fear of missing something.
I believe that perfect darkness is helpful but my children do not. So, in the spirit of the theme of "A good night!", this week's Ironcraft theme, I created this night light. She's made from polymer clay using translucent clay. I love birds so I made this one to resemble a baby bird, not too scary if you wake up in the middle of night looking for a little comfort from the shadows.
You can see the light shine through in the photo. I took the shot during the day so imagine if you will, a little brighter light in the dark. The light source is an led tea light, very easy to replace the battery. I made a kitty for my daughter and my son has yet to tell what type he'd like but I will try to accommodate him too. I like practical art, don't you?

  1. Very practical & I didn't even know translucent clay existed.
