Christmas is Coming, Time to Decorate the Tree!

Another blog hop on the way, today is the big reveal of the ArtBeadScene Xmas Ornament Blog Hop. I really enjoy doing blog hops, you see so many inspiring beauties and meet the nicest people. So, my ornament is mixed media art bead. I sculpted the polymer clay bead (which has been baked over a glass round ball) to look like that rich textured velvet. I had a xmas ball like that when I was younger, one of the first I got on my own when I moved away from my parents' home. The ornament broke through the years. It was only after I was done making the bead that it clicked that I had reproduced my own from so many years ago. Funny how the mind works!
So, without any more ado, here is my ArtBeadScene Xmas Ornament Blog Hop 2012. Hope you like it.
I've included the link to all the other participants of this blog hop. Go check them out and have fun! I know I will. I have to say a big thank you to Heather for hosting this blog hop and for helping this tecky newbie with the mechanics of it all. Thank you Heather!

  5. I would consider myself a novice when it comes to polymer clay. It amazes me what you can do with clay! Fabric! Wow! I love royal blue. It makes me think of a globe. This is beautiful. Thank you for taking part in this hop! (And by the way that wee doggie in your header is so cute. I had a schnauzer once and seeing this made me nostalgic for him as we used to put a red bandanna on him at Christmas time. Thanks for the lovely memory!) Enjoy the day. Erin

  9. What a lovely ornament. Very clever to bake the clay over a glass ball. Love the detail of your clay design and the addition of the stars.
